Friday Ford Kansas Advance, Biffle and Kenseth

Roush Fenway Racing teammates Greg Biffle and Matt Kenseth finished 1-2 last weekend at Dover. Biffle, driver of the No. 16 3M/Sherwin Williams Ford Fusion, is the first driver to win the first two races of the Chase; he is just 10 points behind leader Carl Edwards heading into this weekend’s race at Kansas Speedway. Biffle also won at Kansas in 2007. Kenseth, driver of the No. 17 DeWalt Ford Fusion, has four top-10 finishes in his last six starts.

FORD MOTOR COMPANY FUND EDUCATION CENTER FORMALLY OPENS AT GETTYSBURG NATIONAL MILITARY PARK

The Ford Motor Company Fund Education Center at Gettysburg was officially opened today as part of the grand opening of the new Museum and Visitor Center at Gettysburg National Military Park. The Education Center was made possible by a $3 million grant from Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services, the philanthropic arm of Ford Motor Company.

MATT KENSETH (4TH), BILL ELLIOTT (8TH) QUALIFY IN TOP 10 AT KANSAS

Matt Kenseth, driver of the No. 17 DeWalt Ford Fusion, backed up last week’s second-place finish at Dover by qualifying fourth at Kansas on Friday. Bill Elliott, driver of the No. 21 Motorcraft Ford Fusion, needed to qualify on time, and after being the fastest (12th) Ford Racing driver in practice, took off a little more than a tenth of a second to qualify eighth. Defending race champion Greg Biffle (No. 16 3M. Sherwin Williams) qualified 19th. Juan Pablo Montoya won the pole.

POINTS LEADER CARL EDWARDS RACES AT “HOME” THIS WEEKEND

Carl Edwards, driver of the No. 99 Office Depot Ford Fusion, is the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series points leader heading into this weekend’s race at Kansas. Edwards, who is from nearby Columbia, Mo., opened the Chase with back-to-back third-place finishes.
