TAIPEI, Taiwan — The iconic Mustang has arrived in Taiwan and is already winning rave reviews.
At a press event to unveil the 2013 Mustang, Ford Lio Ho (FLH) introduced 150 units and a limited edition Mustang to the market. Equipped with 3.7-litre Ti-VCT V6 engine and Pony Package, the classic American muscle car has become the second vehicle introduced by FLH to Taiwan since its Better Plan project kicked off last year.
“This is the 40th year for us to serve our customers in Taiwan,” said Thomas Fann, president, FLH. “The introduction of the 2013 Mustang reflects the company’s commitment to bring them more great Ford products through our continuous efforts to leverage all available global resources.”
“Ford Mustang is only one of the vehicles Ford will be bringing to the Taiwan market under its Taiwan Better Plan and there’s no doubt it is another great proof-point of our Go Further commitment.”
The honour of owning the very first Mustang in Taiwan went to Huang Kuo-Lun, chairman, Giga Media, and an avid sports car fan. He was congratulated before receiving the key from Fann.
More than 140 journalists from 86 lifestyle, television, radio and print media attended the event and gave the vehicle rave reviews.
“Nice to know that Ford has launched Mustang in Taiwan! It is certainly creating a lot of buzz in the market,” commented AutoNet. Adding fuel to the hype fire, the Mustang has become one of the protagonists of National Geographic Channel’s documentary television series Magafactories. To be aired on October 6, the episode will give the audience an inside peep into the manufacturing processes of the legendary vehicle.
