Dearborn – This week marks the 148th anniversary of Ford Motor Company founder Henry Ford's birth.

Henry Ford was born on this date in 1863, in what was then known as Greenfield Township, Michigan. He was the first of William and Mary (Litogot) Ford's six children and grew up on the family farm, located near the current intersection of Greenfield and Ford Roads.
On April 11, 1888, Henry married Clara J. Bryant, also of Greenfield Township, and their son Edsel was born on November 6, 1893.
On June 16, 1903, Henry Ford and eleven other investors founded Ford Motor Company, and it is through this Company and his many other philanthropic endeavors, that his legacy lives on – 148 years after his birth.
