STRONG BUSINESS - Global Growth

Under the One Ford strategy, our employees around the world are committed to accelerating the development of new products that our customers truly want and value. Ford’s team has developed five global vehicle platform architectures that will comprise 75 percent of our company’s worldwide sales by 2015.

We’re seeing the results of our One Ford plan take hold in Asia Pacific Africa, with record volume, revenue and market share increasing as our investments in new facilities and products gain traction. We’re executing One Ford in South America, expanding our portfolio with new global products while looking at all facets of the business to find ways to improve operating results.

Despite a challenging environment in Europe, Ford remained No.2 best-selling car brand in its traditional 19 European markets for the fifth consecutive year. Moving forward, Ford’s new vehicles continue to develop strong momentum in the market, with sales of the new B-MAX surpassing 15,000 in 2012.

The product line for Europe continues to increase with the introduction of EcoSport and the full range of Tourneo products designed to address the needs of families across Europe with three derivatives – Custom, Connect and Courier. The iconic Mustang and Edge will be coming to Europe as well in the near future.

Ford Focus was the best-selling nameplate in the world in 2012 and Fiesta was the best-selling small car based on the latest global data. In the U.S., Ford ended the year with 2,168,015 vehicles sold – the only brand to top the 2 million mark in sales.

Ford’s U.S. sales grew across the board in 2012, with cars up 5 percent, utilities up 7 percent and trucks up 2 percent.

Ford trucks continued to dominate in 2012, with F-Series America’s best-selling pickup for the 36th straight year, 31 straight as America’s best-selling vehicle. Overall, 645,316 F-Series were sold last year, a 10 percent increase over 2011.

We continued to invest for tomorrow. We increased capacity in North America by 400,000 units, and opened two new plants in Asia, with seven additional plants under construction. By 2020 we are looking to generate one-third of our sales in the Asia Pacific Africa region.

Ford China set an annual sales record in 2012, selling 626,616 wholesale vehicles, which is a 21 percent jump from 2011.
