DEARBORN, Mich., Oct. 7, 2010 – Alan Mulally, president and chief executive officer, will deliver a keynote address at the 2011 International CES® in Las Vegas on Jan. 7 at 11 a.m. PT. As part of his remarks, Mulally will discuss the latest Ford breakthroughs in infotainment technologies and new vehicle innovations.

“It’s an honor to be invited back to deliver a keynote address,” Mulally said. “As we work to serve our customers with the very best cars and trucks with best-in-class, smart technology, the consumer electronics industry plays a really important role, and there’s no better place to deliver technology news than the International CES.”

This marks Ford’s third keynote address at International CES, where Ford last year received a “Best of CES” award from CNET and Popular Mechanics’ Editor’s Choice award for its MyFord Touch™ driver connect technology.

Through SYNC® and MyFord Touch, Ford has helped make vehicles a connected destination for mobile devices, all while helping drivers keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.
Ford has applied best practices from the consumer electronics and wireless industries with its decision to move from using hardware to software-based platforms and fundamentally has changed the way consumers and businesses will interact with vehicles down the road.

“Alan Mulally has been instrumental in Ford’s leadership in the automotive industry and its success in a challenging economy,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, Consumer Electronics Association, the producer of International CES. “Ford constantly innovates and launches new technologies, like SYNC with speech recognition, that make the driving experience safer through technology. We are thrilled to welcome Alan back to the CES keynote stage and eagerly await the automotive innovations he will unveil.”

Ford also plans to quadruple its display space at International CES versus this year’s show. The new Ford display area will feature a full complement of interactive exhibits and demonstrations of technology, from safety to sustainability to connectivity.

CES is the world’s largest consumer technology trade show and takes place Jan. 6-9.
