FORD CANADA SALES UP 64%; BEST SEPTEMBER SINCE 1978

Car sales up 15%; Truck sales up 81%; Year-to-date sales up 22%

OAKVILLE, Ontario, October 1, 2010 – Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited saw sales increase 64 per cent compared to the same period last year, marking the best September in more than 30 years. Overall car sales increased 15 per cent, truck sales grew 81 per cent while crossover sales jumped 124 per cent compared to last September. With sales up 22 per cent year-to-date, Ford of Canada continues to lead the market for 2010.

"Consumers are looking at Ford's entire product-line for its quality, safe and fuel efficient vehicles," said David Mondragon, president and CEO, Ford of Canada. "With our new powertrains, consumers can still have the space and capability they need with a CUV or truck while getting the fuel efficiency they want."

With its first full month of sales, the newly redesigned, Canadian-built 2011 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX are showing positive gains with sales increasing 174 per cent and 224 per cent, respectively. September also marked a record breaking month for the luxury crossover - Lincoln MKX. Both vehicles are the first to offer MyFord Touch™ and MyLincoln Touch™ state-of-the-art technology, designed to provide a smarter, safer, simpler way to connect drivers with their in-car technologies and digital lives.
