DEARBORN, Mich. July 6, 2011 – If Ford wins three major racing championships this year, 40 consumers will take home an all-new 2012 Ford Focus.
That’s the simple premise behind the current
If Ford Racing drivers win the NASCAR Sprint Cup championship, the NHRA Funny Car championship, and the World Rally Championship, 40 lucky fans that have entered the sweepstakes will be randomly selected to win the new Focus, which is EPA-certified at 40 mpg.
“It’s simple. If we win, 40 consumers win as well,” said Jamie Allison, director, Ford Racing. “This is a great opportunity for our fans to keep track of our efforts at winning championships in the top three series we compete in, and also to learn more about the great, fun-to-drive, fuel-efficient 2012 Ford Focus.”
At least one fan will win a 2012 Focus as part of the sweepstakes, and for each of the five months the contest is open, 40 fans will be randomly selected to win “The Works Fuel Saver Package.” This package can be redeemed at their local Ford/Lincoln Dealerships and Quick Lane Tire & Auto Centers.
Fans can register for the sweepstakes at www.Ford40MPG.com, as well as at select Ford Racing trackside displays during the 2011 season. The new website features information about the all-new 2012 Focus, and fans can view special webisodes featuring some of Ford Racing’s top drivers as they experience the new car. Over 42,000 fans have already registered in the first month of the sweepstakes.
The sweepstakes runs until October 31, 2011, and for the length of the sweepstakes, fans can follow Ford40mpg.com for the series leaderboards as they approach the championship push, ending at Ford Championship Weekend, November 18-20 in Miami, Fla. About the 2012 Ford Focus The 2012 Ford Focus is all-new and is available as a four-door sedan or sporty five-door hatchback. It is one of four Ford Motor Company vehicles to offer EPA-certified 40 mpg on the highway and achieved that distinction with a six-speed automatic transmission, which is overwhelmingly preferred by American drivers.
The outstanding fuel economy of the Ford Focus is complemented by available class-exclusive technology and features usually found only on larger cars, such as available push button-start, voice-activated navigation, and Active Park Assist, which takes the stress our of parallel parking.
With SYNC® voice-control functionality, Bluetooth connectivity and array of options for connecting external media, the all-new 2012 Ford Focus surpasses its competition in technology while remaining fun to drive.
