Phil Horlock is chairman and CEO of Ford Motor Land Development Corporation (Ford Land), the real estate arm and wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company. Appointed to this position in July 2008, he has global responsibility for real estate, engineering and construction, facilities management and energy for Ford Motor Company.
Ford Motor Company's real estate portfolio consists of manufacturing, research, distribution and office properties in more than 35 countries.
Horlock previously served as controller, Corporate Finance, Ford Motor Company, a position he assumed in January 2007. In that role, he was responsible for profit and cash planning for Ford Motor Company, including forecasting of current and forward year results, scenario analysis and planning, financial and business strategy, competitive analysis and special studies.
Horlock began his career with Ford of Britain in 1977 in Finance, holding various managerial positions in England and Germany. He moved to the United States in 1991. Since then, he has held controller positions in the Global Climate Control Division, Commercial Truck Operations and Global Marketing and Sales Operations. In 1998 he was appointed executive director, Strategy and Global New Business Development.
Between 2000 and 2007, Horlock held several executive positions including chief operating officer of Ford's e-commerce business unit, ConsumerConnect, Ford Financial executive vice president, Global Insurance Operations and chief financial officer, Ford Asia Pacific and Africa.
Horlock earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and mathematics from the University of Sheffield in England where he graduated with honors. He is also a graduate of Ford's "Capstone Program" for executive leadership development.
