FORD CANADA SALES UP 16%; BEST MONTH IN 10 YEARS

Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited saw sales increase 16 per cent in June, marking the best month on record in 10 years. With 31,707 units sold, Ford of Canada posted its highest monthly sales since May 2000. Ford finishes the first half of 2010 with sales up 23 per cent, making the company the top-selling automaker in Canada. This marks the first time in more than 50 years that Ford has lead the market for two consecutive quarters.

FORD DELIVERS STRONG, BALANCED SALES IN FIRST HALF 2010; NEW SUPER DUTY, MUSTANG PACE JUNE SALES GROWTH

Ford’s newest models helped the company conclude a strong first half as Ford, Lincoln and Mercury dealers delivered 170,900 new vehicles in June – a 15 percent increase versus a year ago. Year-to-date sales totaled 954,745, up 28 percent with growth across Ford’s full family of cars (up 27 percent), utilities (up 24 percent) and trucks (up 32 percent).

Kahne and Ragan Forced To Back-Up Fusions; Biffle and Kenseth Like Slick Daytona Track

David Ragan, driver of the No. 6 UPS Ford Fusion, and Kasey Kahne, driver of the No. 9 Budweiser Ford Fusion, were involved in a multi-car accident during today’s first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice session. Both Ragan and Kahne will be forced to back-up cars as a result of their damage. Greg Biffle, driver of the No. 16 3M Ford Fusion, and Matt Kenseth, driver of the No. 17 Jeremiah Weed Ford Fusion, are both in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Top-12 heading into this weekend’s Coke Zero 400. They each conducted Q&A sessions at Daytona International Speedway to discuss the weekend.
