With rising gas prices taking a bigger bite out of people's wallets, fuel economy has become even more of a key purchase consideration for consumers. Ford is committed to delivering vehicles with the best or among the best fuel economy with every new product we bring to market -- without sacrificing performance, capability or driving fun.
Ford Motor Company features 12 vehicles with best-in-class fuel economy – more than any manufacturer – including four models that achieve at least 40 mpg. Ford has pledged that each new product will be the leader or among the leaders in fuel economy.
Further, in 2011 Ford CEO Alan Mulally joined industry and government leaders to establish a fuel economy standards framework that will help significantly improve fuel efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions while protecting jobs and the economy.
