News CenterStatement in Response to the New International Trade Crossing Announcement
Background: Today, Gov. Rick Snyder announced an agreement with Canada that lays the groundwork for the New International Trade Crossing.
The following statement is attributable to Bill Ford, Executive Chairman, Ford Motor Company.
"Detroit is home to the busiest border crossing in North America based on trade volume, with a value of more than $120 billion in goods crossing annually. To compete as a world-class community, we need a new crossing that will improve traffic flow with direct freeway links and reduce or eliminate congestion.
We strongly support Michigan’s New International Trade Crossing, which is projected to bring in new jobs and investment into the state, as well as strengthen its role as a center of international trade.”
