BIRMINGHAM, UK, April 24, 2012 – Ford is set to steal the headlines at the Birmingham CV Show, with the world premiere of the all-new Ford Transit Custom being the star attraction on the company’s biggest ever CV show stand.

Joining the debutant in a spectacular 18-vehicle display are the dynamic new Ford Tourneo Custom, all three bodystyles of the all-new Ford Ranger pickup, and the most economical van ever produced by Ford, the new Fiesta Van ECOnetic Technology.

Global Debut of all-new Ford Transit Custom
The all-new Ford Transit Custom makes its global debut at the Birmingham CV Show, bringing new levels of style, driver appeal and functionality to the one-tonne commercial vehicle market.

Representing a completely new generation of Ford one-tonne vehicles, the Transit Custom marks a major step in Ford’s commitment to refresh its entire commercial vehicle line-up by 2014.

With its bold new design, car-like interior and outstanding driving dynamics, the Ford Transit Custom is targeting an expanded share of the segment, appealing to a broad range of professionals, skilled tradesmen and small businesses.

The new model has lost none of the legendary Transit toughness and value, however, combining class-leading load-carrying ability, impressive durability and attractive cost-of-ownership – with best-in-class fuel economy.

“The Transit Custom is a completely new kind of one-tonne vehicle from Ford,” said Jesus Alonso - director CV Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford of Europe. “This is a stylish, modern van which customers will be proud to have on their driveway, while losing none of the hard-working attitude that they expect from a Transit.

“The launch of this new range marks the start of a far-reaching transformation of Ford’s global commercial vehicle range.  With more new models set to be revealed in the coming months, 2012 is destined to be a very exciting year for our commercial vehicle business.”

All-new Ford Tourneo Custom
With its dramatic new appearance, car-like interior and driving dynamics, smart technologies and class-leading fuel economy, the Ford Tourneo Custom offers people-mover customers an outstanding combination of style and function.

The Tourneo Custom has an advanced, streamlined profile based around the same kinetic design language used on Ford passenger cars. This includes a sportier stance, bold rising shoulder line, flush glazing, distinctive trapezoidal grille and prominent wheel lips.

Available in eight-seat or nine-seat configurations, Tourneo Custom offers a choice of short wheelbase (SWB - overall length 4.97 metres) and long wheelbase (LWB - overall length 5.34 metres) versions, both of which provide generous space for people and luggage.

All-new Ford Ranger in three cab styles
A full line-up of the all-new Ford Ranger pickup also makes its European debut at the Birmingham CV Show, with all three stylish and practical cab bodystyles – Double, Super and Regular – displayed together for the first time.

Totally new from the ground up, Ranger was designed and developed to be best-in-class or among the leaders in every area important to customers, especially those who use it for both work and leisure purposes. Ranger now delivers more payload and class-leading towing capability, along with innovative new comfort and driver assistance features.

The three versatile cab bodystyles are among the roomiest in its class, and the all-new Ranger comes with a choice of two powerful and economical new Duratorq TDCI diesel engines, and with 4x2 and 4x4 drivetrains.

New Ranger is also the first pickup to achieve a 5 Star rating in the Euro NCAP test, scoring 89 percent for overall safety – the best score ever earned by a pickup, and one of the highest scores recorded by Euro NCAP for any type of vehicle.

A van for every job
A comprehensive line-up of Ford’s other commercial vehicles are on display, from the smallest Fiesta Van to the largest Transit.

The ultra-economical new Fiesta Van ECOnetic Technology is making its full public debut at the show. The most fuel-efficient van ever produced by Ford, the new model delivers best-in-class CO2 emissions of 87g/km and fuel consumption of 3.3l/100km (86.5mpg)*.

The Transit range is represented by a vast array of derivatives including short, medium and long wheelbase panel vans, ECOnetic and Double Cab-In-Van models, chassis cabs with dropside and tipper bodies, a new Transit SportVan in performance blue with silver stripes, and a 17-seat minibus used for Ford’s UEFA Champions League activities.

UEFA Champions League competition
Anyone who fancies their footballing skills can enter the UEFA Champions League competition on the Ford stand. They have to score three goals from five shots to go into a draw for two tickets for the UEFA Champions League final in Munich in May.

Visitors can also rest at the Ford café and listen to the live Talksport radio breakfast show – being broadcast from the Ford stand 6:00 a.m. – 10.00 a.m. on Tuesday 24 April.
