DEARBORN, Mich., July 30, 2012 – Ford Motor Company is excited to announce the donation of a customized 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca for the 10th Anniversary Cattle Baron’s Ball Auction. The Candy Red Mustang will have a one-of-a-kind paint scheme created for the event. The goal in customizing the Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca is to create a vehicle that will attract the highest bids from car collectors and ultimately the most money to support American Cancer Society research, programs and services for cancer survivors and their loved ones throughout Metro Detroit.

“Like many people, my family has been personally affected by the challenges of cancer and I am proud to chair Cattle Baron’s Ball in Detroit,” said Jim Farley, Ford Motor Company group vice president for Global Marketing, Sales and Service. “As a fan of the powerful, historic Mustang, I am especially pleased to provide this American icon for auction.”

Since 2003, the American Cancer Society Cattle Baron’s Ball has enjoyed record-breaking success and is recognized as one of the most distinctive charitable events in Metro Detroit. Guests of Cattle Baron’s Ball enjoy a unique Western-themed event complete with live entertainment, Texas-style cuisine provided by Detroit’s finest eateries, dancing, a high-end live and silent auction, and other special attractions. This year’s event will feature a private, unplugged performance by superstar Toby Keith sponsored by Ford.

About American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society combines an unyielding passion with nearly a century of experience to save lives and end suffering from cancer. As a global grassroots force of more than three million volunteers, we fight for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. We save lives by helping people stay well by preventing cancer or detecting it early; helping people get well by being there for them during and after a cancer diagnosis; by finding cures through investment in groundbreaking discovery; and by fighting back by rallying lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and by rallying communities worldwide to join the fight. As the nation’s largest non-governmental investor in cancer research, contributing about $3.4 billion, we turn what we know about cancer into what we do. As a result, more than 11 million people in America who have had cancer and countless more who have avoided it will be celebrating birthdays this year. To learn more about us or to get help, call us any time, day or night, at 1-800-227-2345 or visit cancer.org.
