Biography: K.R. Kent

K.R. Kent is controller, The Americas, effective Nov. 1, 2011. As senior finance leader for all of The Americas, Kent, 48, reports to Mark Fields, executive vice president, Ford Motor Company, and president, The Americas. Kent was previously executive director, Investor Relations, Ford Motor Company, responsible for all company efforts with the investment community in both equity and fixed income areas. Prior to that, Kent was the vice chairman and chief financial officer, Ford Motor Credit Company, a position he held from March 2006 until assuming his current duties in January 2011.

Kent joined Ford Motor Company in 1987 and served in a variety of financial positions in product development and vehicle operations in North America and in the corporate controller’s office and Treasury. His international assignments include serving as Mazda’s managing director of corporate planning in Japan and as controller for product development with Ford in Europe.

Kent holds a bachelor’s degree in business analysis from Indiana University and a master’s degree in business administration from the Ohio State University.
