Ford’s near-term electrification plan calls for the company to triple production capacity of its electrified vehicle range by 2013. “Ford is giving customers the power of choice for leading fuel economy regardless of what type of vehicle or powertrain technology they choose,” said Eric Kuehn, chief nameplate engineer, Focus Electric.

2012 Ford Focus Electric Vehicle Home Charging Station

One of the most frequent questions about the Ford Focus Electric is "How do I charge it at home?" The answer is that it will be as simple as plugging in your cellphone! The 240V Charging Station built by Leviton charges the vehicle in 3 to 4 hours, and the installation process is easy.

Ford's Electrified Vehicle Lineup

The new Focus Electric, C-Max Hybrid and C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid are key players in Ford’s strategic decision to electrify vehicle platforms, and 2012 will see all three join Ford’s fuel-efficient product lineup. In the European arena alone, Ford will launch at least 20 all-new or significantly freshened vehicles over the next three years.

Focus Electric

The Focus Electric, coming in 2012, is the first all-electric vehicle to achieve a 100 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) fuel efficiency rating with seating for five. If that isn't enough, it can even cut electricity costs to zero or pay customers back with solar recharging option.

It’s the first all-electric vehicle to offer faster charging technology, allowing it to charge in half the time of a Nissan Leaf using 240-volt outlets.

Fusion Hybrid

The New Ford Fusion is the first sedan to offer gasoline, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, each with expected top fuel economy, underscoring Ford’s commitment to give customers the power of choice.

Escape Hybrid

The 2012 Ford Escape Hybrid is the most fuel-efficient sport utility vehicle in America, achieving 34 mpg city and 31 mpg highway. Escape Hybrid consumers pay at least $100 less for fuel per month than those driving competing vehicles. In addition to making the Edmunds.com list of class leaders in best monthly fuel costs, the Escape Hybrid breaks new ground by offering the full SUV capacity that Ford customers have come to expect.

Transit Connect Electric

Ford is partnering with Azure Dynamics to deliver the Ford Transit Connect Electric. Azure Dynamics has integrated its Force Drive™ battery electric drivetrain in the all-electric Transit Connect van. Strategic partnerships with key suppliers are a crucial element of Ford’s electrification strategy, which involves global delivery of all-electric power for commercial applications.

C-MAX Hybrid and C-MAX Energi Plug-In Hybrid

By 2013, Ford plans to triple production capacity of its electrified vehicle range. The C-MAX vehicles will be built on the company's global C-segment platform and are two of five electrified vehicles Ford plans to launch in North America in 2012.

C-MAX Headlines Transformed Lineup

C-MAX Hybrid headlines Ford's transformed lineup, one-third of which will feature a model with 40 mpg or more in 2012, building on the company's commitment to give fuel-efficiency-minded customers the Power of Choice. The new C-MAX Hybrid is targeted to achieve better fuel economy than Toyota Prius.
