The electrified vehicle landscape is becoming increasingly crowded and a lot more confusing for the average consumer. Hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and all-electric vehicles now compete for the attention of potential customers around the globe. How do you keep these evolving, rival technologies straight to better weigh the pros and cons of each new - and yes, slightly intimidating – electrified vehicle?

We provide the information, links and videos below to help you do just that.

In addition, visit our Ford Facebook Electric Vehicles page for the latest updates on electrified vehicle activities and events.

Why Go Electric?

Ford is building on a commitment to give fuel efficiency-minded customers the Power of Choice.

Ford’s near-term electrification plan calls for the company to triple production capacity of its electrified vehicle range by 2013. “Ford is giving customers the power of choice for leading fuel economy regardless of what type of vehicle or powertrain technology they choose,” said Eric Kuehn, chief nameplate engineer, Focus Electric.

Electrified Vehicles Can Reduce Fossil Fuel Dependence

A More Fuel-Efficient Vehicle Means a Reduced Carbon Footprint
Electrified vehicles are designed to be more fuel-efficient than comparable nonelectric vehicles, because electricity supplies part or all of their power.

Fewer Tailpipe Emissions = Less Smog
With fewer carbon emissions from the tailpipe, electrified vehicles promote cleaner air in vehicle-congested urban areas.

The Grid is Getting Greener
Electric utilities are working to build more efficient plants that generate more power from renewable sources of energy such as wind, solar and hydroelectric.

Electricity is an Alternative Fuel
Electrified vehicles offer one more fuel choice for consumers: additional protection against price fluctuations at the pump.
