Position Duties:

Keep the Plant Manager and the Operating Committee informed of our quality status.

  • Manage process operations allocated to Exports/Lincolns.
  • Provide real time Quality concern feedback to base departments an assign DMAIC’s to responsible owner
  • Review Quality Leadership System data for accuracy and identify trends, plan & execute reaction plans to reduce failure rates.
  • Make adjustments to Quality Operating System based on internal and external data.
  • Champion at least 1 DMAIC monthly.
  • Establish and maintain regular housekeeping and safety reviews using the 5S (sort, stabilize, shine, standardize, and sustain) standards as established through the Ford Production System.
  • Champion Operator Instruction Sheets (OIS) & Work Element Sheets (WES).
  • Ensure all design specifications are followed.
  • Manage implementation of a Best-In-Class Quality Operating System.
  • Provide representation for Daily Plant Quality Review and Product Reviews.
  • Support required internal audits and management reviews associated with Quality Operating System assessments and Quality & Productivity Improvement Plan assessments.
  • Support and contribute to the plant Policy Deployment Process.
  • Mediate conflicts between production and engineering over responsibility for Port or country specific build concerns and guide them toward the customer required solutions.
  • Make measurement system adjustments on concerns found in our Quality Operating System and Plant Ford Consumer Product Audits
  • Provide feedback to appropriate departments on concerns identified by inspectors and surveillances.
  • Report supplier quality significant events to the Quality Manager.

  • Prior day overtime
  • Manpower
  • Materials
  • Quality
  • Inventory
  • Overline overtime
  • Safety concerns
Review Operating Costs and adjust to make objectives to the following items:
  • Labor & Overhead
  • Indirect Materials
  • Bulk Materials
  • Volume losses/gains
  • Hourly manning
  • Hourly/Salary overtime
  • Go Home performance
  • Scrap Performance
  • Review Capital Budget Projects
  • Review Labor & Overhead Budget by Cost Element
  • Ship the build for Export/Lincolns daily
  • Adjust manpower and flow to supplement Pre-delivery on days when volumes for Exports/Lincolns are low.
  • Manage overtime equalization for area
  • Develop quality and cost savings projects as required to support state-of-the-art computer equipment requirements throughout Quality/Pre-Delivery.
  • Maintain a system to evaluate and file each individual's contributions for continuous improvement in areas of quality, cost and work environment.
  • Cascade performance objectives & administer performance reviews.
  • Attend required Ford Production System meetings to support other departments in their issue escalation process.
  • Review, conduct and plan training for the Quality Department by working with the Plant raining & Development Lead
  • Manage hourly and salary vacation schedules.
  • Develop and implement action plans that will drive the department’s pulse action initiatives.


Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years of years of Management experience in a unionized manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of working with Microsoft Office experience

Preferred Requirements:
  • Quality Engineer certification
  • Black Belt certified
  • 7+ years of manufacturing production experience
  • Experience with implementing and sustaining continuous improvement strategies
  • Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership in One FORD (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
