Job Description
Ford Communications is tasked with building and safeguarding the Company's global reputation, enhancing stakeholders' understanding of Ford and its aspiration to become the world's most trusted mobility company. Our global team of communicators sets industry standards for excellence in implementing high-impact communications programs that build stakeholders' affinity and support for Ford's innovations, industry leadership and Better World social responsibility programs. We are looking for creative, passionate communications professionals to join our nimble organization in adapting to the fast-changing global environment and effectively communicate with our target audiences.

Internships are project oriented and challenge you to demonstrate strategic thinking, business acumen and technical skills. Potential assignment areas for summer internships include:
  • Product Communications – responsible for the launch communications and building favorable opinion of new products and technologies
  • Corporate Communications – responsible for environment (including fuel efficiency), safety and manufacturing and other corporate issues
  • Employee Communications – responsible for daily communications and major employee product programs
  • Ford Smart Mobility - responsible for communications to support Ford's emerging services including autonomous vehicles and mobility services

Minimum Requirements
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, or Public Relations.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Sophomore school status (expected graduation Spring 2021 or sooner)
  • Less than 3 years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • Strong writing, reporting and verbal communications skills
  • Strong knowledge of digital and social media tools
  • Previous intern experience in the Communications field
  • News reporting or editing experience
  • Creative approach to communications; ability to develop innovative approaches to delivering messaging
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and cultivate relationships with colleagues with diverse backgrounds and cultures
