Job Description Experienced software engineer will be joining Ford Next Gen Data Center Engineering (NGDE), Cloud Automation team. Position requires a solid background in infrastructure to support delivery of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and security to deliver Security as Code (SaC). Position will also have opportunity to provide scrum master role and agile coaching, depending on candidate skillset.
Requirements:
Lead software development to deliver automated solutions for on-premise Cloud based on VMware virtualization stack, and other hosting environments such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes.
Work in an agile teaming environment to design, develop, test and deliver automation code through a CI/CD methodology.
Utilize vendor software products and opensource software to develop automation solutions, for example, Chef, Hashicorp, and others.
Research and innovate solutions to support NGDE goals, for example, Chef Habitat.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
5+ years Application Development experience
3+ years Infrastructure experience in one or more areas: Operating Systems, Database, Web server, Storage, Network, Active Directory
5+ years’ experience with multiple programming languages: Java, Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Perl, C. Emphasis on Ruby and Javascript
5+ years of experience with GUI programming utilizing modern methods, HTML5, JSON, JavaScript libraries (e.g., jQuery), runtimes (e.g., node.js), and frameworks (e.g., AngularJS)
Preferred experience:
Delivering Infrastructure as Code (IaC), higher priority
3+ years working with security programming and Identity Access Methods
3+ years working with Cloud Automation platform such as VMware vRealize Automation and Orchestration (vRA/vRO)
3+ years working with Configuration Management tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible
3+ years working with IT enterprise processes such as enterprise architecture, security and controls, business analyst, project management organization, engineering, planning
3+ years’ experience with API development, prefer REST
3+ years creating Automated Testing Frameworks to support CI/CD pipeline automation
3+ years Database design and development using SQL
2+ years Working in an DevOps or Agile development team and utilizing DevOps tools such as Github, JIRA, Jenkins, etc
Delivering Security as Code (SaC), lower priority
Working with Containers such as Kubernetes, Docker
Working with opensource tools such as ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
Working knowledge of ITIL
Operations experience in a large enterprise
Security experience in a large enterprise
