Powertrain Transmission & Driveline Functional Safety Engineering positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Livonia, MI). Use ISO 26262 design process to analyze new transmission and driveline technologies. Design, validate and integrate software and/or hardware requirements as defined by the functional safety process.

Minimum Requirements:

• Master's or foreign equivalent degree in Automotive Systems Engineering or a related field with a focus on Powertrain Controls
• 6 months of experience in the job offered or 6 months of experience developing embedded functional safety software for automotive Powertrain Controls
• 6 months of experience using ISO 26262 to analyze powertrain technologies and develop engineering specifications
• 6 months of experience using C (with Safety, MISRA, and E-GAS restrictions) to develop Powertrain Control Software
• 6 months of experience using MATLAB, Simulink and Stateflow to auto-generate safety compliant C for embedded Powertrain controls
• 6 months of experience designing and implementing ISO 26262 Verification and Validation plans in vehicle, using Hardware in the Loop, Software in the Loop and Model in the Loop technologies
• 6 months of experience using SysML and MagicDraw to document Functional Safety Specifications, including Item Definition, Hazard and Risk Assessment, and Functional Safety Concept
• 6 months of experience applying functional safety specifications, including ISO 26262 and E-GAS
