Job DescriptionThe Network Communications team (NetCom) develop Network and Diagnostic strategy for Ford vehicles. The Core NetCom Engineer for the Core Database position will lead for the described functions.
Work with other Ford functions and Ford suppliers to define applicable interface of each ECU on the vehicle network system.
Responsibilities: - Work on Core Message Database Strategies, Management and Development
- Work with Cross-functional teams, Feature Owners to assist integration of interfaces on the network and adhering to the defined strategies and methods
- Work with other Ford functions and Ford suppliers to define applicable interface of each ECU on the vehicle network system for various architectures.
- Assist NetCom Applications Engineers in resolving conflicts with the Core Message Database (CMDB)
- Maintain procedure and training documentation.
- Train users on and work with tool provider to manage tool changes
. Position Qualifications: - Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science.
- 3+ years of experience with Vehicle Networking
- 3+ years of CAN experience, CAN-FD
Preferred Qualifications: - 5+ years of CAN experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Systems engineering skills
- Able to work with cross-functional teams involving all regions
- Experience authoring technical documentation (e.g. specifications, procedures, references)
- Experience with network analysis tools
- Experience with database tools (e.g. CANdb++, PREEvision)
- Knowledge with Message Authentication
- Knowledge with E2E
