Job Description Job description: Product Development Engineer positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, MI). Responsible for small pick-up truck and SUV sound packages in connection with NVH activities including building and modifying SEA models. Benchmark competitor vehicles for vehicle level target settings, provide roadmap for target gap, cascade the vehicle level targets to sound package component levels, monitor designs, conduct prototype sound package design verification and work with supplier from pre-program through launch. Guide design release engineers towards selecting appropriate materials, designs and manufacturing methods to meet the component level targets. Research and develop new tools and methods for noise source-path localization.
Minimum Requirements:
Ph.D. or foreign equivalent degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering field
5 years of experience performing research and analysis in Acoustics & Vibration domain related to the automobile industry
3 years of experience applying airborne sensitivity or sound package for noise treatment in the OEM vehicle industry
3 years of experience modeling vehicle level performance and solving vehicle noise problems using ESI VA One SEA software
3 years of experience researching and developing new tools and methods in Nearfield Acoustic Holography, Intensity Vector Scans and Beamforming
3 years of experience programming with MATLAB and Visual Basic software
Must possess Six Sigma Green belt certification
