Position Overview:

Emerging Analytics is a product line that delivers a scalable and extensible test and learn ecosystem that is focused on new advanced opportunities. The ecosystem is an integrated, multi-platform solution that incorporates in-vehicle technology and Ford’s next generation cloud technologies. This position is a great opportunity to drive the Emerging Analytics delivery, which will bring to production many key strategic capabilities.

Emerging Analytics is GDI&A’s primary capability to enable advanced analytics technologies in the big data space that will lead to improved quality, design, marketing, and development of our current and future products. This includes the delivery of core Mobility and Transportation Planning Applications for the company that is a key enabler for innovation and mobility.

GDI&A IT is looking for a Product Manager that embraces lean and agile practices. The Product Manager will work in a small, cross-functional, and co-located team. The Product Manager will collaborate directly and continuously with software engineers and designers, and will release early and often.



Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with GDI&A Partners to understand their product vision and break it down into an actionable backlog of user stories for the development team.
  • Work hands-on with the development team and other stakeholders to prioritize, plan, and deliver software and infrastructure that meets client requirements.
  • Help GDI&A Partners understand our iterative development approach and focus on delivering a Minimum Viable Product through careful and deliberate prioritization.
  • Work with design resources (internal and/or external) to ensure timely delivery of designs and assets to the development team.
  • Mentor and train other PMs to help them learn agile/XP methods and build skills.
  • Identify potential success stories and share with communications team.
  • Help innovate and iterate on agile PM processes and share our learnings.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1+ years of Business Analyst, Solutions Architect, or Project Manager experience.
  • 1+ years of experience defining and prioritizing product features.
  • 1+ years’ experience with CA Agile Central (Rally) or similar Agile Tools.
  • 1+ years of experience with Lean methodology.
Desired Skills
  • In vehicle and/or connected vehicle subject matter expertise
  • Previous success working with an agile development team.
  • Background in design or software development.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to teach others.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and navigate complex decision making.
  • Ability to collaborate well with engineers, designers, and Business Partners.
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development, Paired Programming.
