As Principal Technical Program Manager at Ford, you will have the responsibility of leading complex engineering projects leveraging your software development and infotainment product release expertise. In this role, you will lead a cross functional software team in the development of our next generation infotainment features from conception to system release. These features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth Phone, USB, Navigation, Voice, etc. Our infotainment systems must be equipped to handle the use cases of today and those of tomorrow. Our ambitions reach well beyond existing solutions, and we are in search of innovative individuals to join this team.

Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of technical program managers and Agile product owners to establish and execute program timing, develop core specifications, and work with the software development and quality assurance teams to deliver exciting, high-quality infotainment products.
- Lead the software development delivery as an Agile release train engineer for SYNC3
- Manage software quality by establishing customer feedback channels and implementing failure mode avoidance initiatives.
- Communicate program milestones and deliveries across the enterprise.
- Evaluate incoming feature requests and identify resource needs.
- Quantify feature release quality by evaluating projected software defect rate, number of open defects, etc.
- Lead relationships with strategic partners, such as Apple, Google, Nuance, etc. in the planning of features and requirements.
- Create a highly collaborative, motivated team environment and partner with project managers, embedded system engineers, embedded software developers, and embedded software quality assurance engineers daily.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related
- 2+ years leading infotainment software developers on a production infotainment software program
- 3+ years of experience participating in an Agile production software development team
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- 10+ years of software development or technical program management experience
- 3+ years of software development or technical program management leadership experience
- Experience delivering an automotive infotainment and/or consumer electronics product.
- Working knowledge of Agile software development processes (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
- Working knowledge of C/C++ or Python
- Testing/QA experience
- Excellent program management skills, customer focus, mentoring skills, as well as written and oral communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast paced environment and with cross functional global teams
- Familiarity with the technical implementation details of Bluetooth, USB, Wi-Fi, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Voice, CAN, and /or Navigation features within a vehicle
