Ford’s Safety Electronics team designs and develops hardware and functional models that provide Best in Class behavior for features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Cross Traffic Alert, Active Park Assist and 360 Camera Systems.
This position is focused on the software engineering of new Driver Assist Technology features, but could also involve other elements of the process because we are seeking to add high quality people to the team rather than trying to squeeze engineers into a specific role.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the SW development activities on the DAT projects per Ford’s Product Development Processes
- Create project plans to support GPDS timing for the main DAT programs and manage the SW Feature/Function implementation plan
- Understand the gives and gets from the different teams working on DAT, both Ford and supplier teams and incorporate into workplan
- Manage the closure of SW related issues
- Review and track the progress of the Ford and suppliers teams against the DAT workplan
- Maintain a project dashboard along with key performance indicators.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Controls Engineering
- 2+ years’ experience in SW Project Management in the automotive embedded domain
- 3+ years embedded HW/SW development experience
- Understanding of Ford’s product development processes, including software development and release requirements
- Understanding of advanced driver assistance systems
