We are seeking exceptional candidates to join our growing electrified vehicle (EV) business team! Electrified vehicles are an important part of Ford’s future and we are looking for the best and brightest. The role will require enterprise-wide critical thinking, leading cross-functional professionals, and a “get it done” attitude to help make strategic decisions that will enable Ford to be a leader in electrified zero-emission vehicles.



Responsibilities:

As the Battery Lifecycle Manager, you manage battery lifecycle strategies globally. This position will require you to work with internal and external stakeholders to manage the lifecycle value of vehicle batteries. Lifecycle management considerations include service parts supply, inventory maintenance, transportation, tracking & data management through all phases and streams (e.g. repair history, cell replacement), array replacement, remanufacturing, repurposing (transfer of recycle liability), and recycling. Other details of the position include:
  • Work with stakeholders to lead the battery lifecycle management plan for EV markets globally
  • Initial responsibilities will entail helping to define a level of battery lifecycle-related impact / scope required to assist with the creation of a battery lifecycle plan.
  • Develop and support battery lifecycle plan preparation
  • Lifecycle Strategy: inform and advocate with FCSD (Ford Customer Service Division) and PD (Product Development) the future strategy for remanufacturing, repurposing and recycling and provide key support for FCSD upstream serviceability team business cases
  • Product: ID changes and improvements necessary to our existing products that do not meet requirements for lifecycle functional expectations
  • Functional requirement gathering, development and maintenance of remanufacturing, reuse and recycling design requirements in synergy with the SEO Upstream Engineering Team
  • Interface with market teams globally for synergies and best practices sharing/ benchmarking (processes, configuration and requirements management, tool integration, collaboration)
  • Liaise and actively collaborate with stakeholders in order to help map battery lifecycle requirements and corresponding business process changes.
  • Represent Ford with Industry groups, coalitions, regulatory bodies to promote effective and efficient lifecycle management policies and collaborations related to EV batteries.
  • Supported by SE&SE (Safety Engineering and Sustainable Energy), keep current with changing global regulations and standards and communicate proposed & impending changes to ensure business continuity and compliance
  • Represent the business (along with other internal organizations) in global standards organizations
  • Work with regional teams to ensure company compliance with local regulatory guidelines and communicate with FCSD and product development teams to ensure alignment
  • Create programs and systems to manage compliance requirements; implement performance metrics to identify areas of improvement or areas that could lead to non-compliance
  • Supported by SE&SE, Keeping updated with the latest changes in regulatory requirements and trends
  • Develop communications responses for customer, dealer and external inquiries
  • Collaborate in a team environment and assist in development and improvement of test tracking, reporting, and coordination of various tasks
  • Flexible work hours – early/late WebEx meetings
Travel for this role: Domestic and International travel (up to 10%)



Job Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • 3+ years of Project Management experience
  • 3+ years of experience in recycling industry OR remanufacturing

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years Project Management experience
  • 5+ years recycling industry experience
  • Li-Ion Battery recycling management/knowledge
  • EV battery technical knowledge (Li-Ion preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and communications (verbal and written)
  • Able to work individually and in teams
  • Ability/experience working across disciplines (compliance, engineering, marketing, operations)
