Job Description
This is an MVS Console Operation Analyst position for ITO skill team. The successful candidate will be working with a global team to provide Infrastructure application and hardware support that includes technical support analyze and resolve software failures, and lead various efforts to ensure all responsible infrastructures meet Ford’s security and control requirements.

The MVS Console Operations Analyst will utilize tools that will control the initialization, monitoring, problem determination and resolution of the mainframe computer systems. In addition, the candidate is responsible for the identification and specification of the operational availability of the computer systems. The MVS Console Operations Analyst position supports a 7-Day Operation Schedule (10 days on then 4 days off) 24 hours a day, including holidays.

Responsibilities:
  • Interface with Business IT and business owners to prioritize improvement efforts
  • Participate in core internal Ford team to manage daily operations of application utilizing standard ITIL V3 Tools
  • Share and present work to cross-functional teams and executive leadership
  • Ensure Critical Success Factor (CSF), Critical to Quality (CTQ) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are met for these applications
  • Work with other IT teams (MVS Software, DBA’s, Server operations, etc.) to meet infrastructure requirements
  • Assist team lead with managing assignments and work load of global support team
  • Meet security and control requirements for a SoX application including: IT Policy Manual compliance, Systems audit completion and evidence gathering, interface documentation, audit participation, and Operation Identified Comment (OIC) resolution
  • Develop and maintain, accurate support documentation
  • Perform SCRP process and ACR/ICR updates
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of experience with Mainframe technologies
  • 3+ years of experience with JES2/3 environments, MVS, Netview, System Automation, HMC and hardware configuration.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of the IT Operating Model / IT Service Management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • JES2 & JES3 skills
  • MVS Skills
  • Experience with supporting the mainframe through Automation tools (Netview, OPS MVS)
  • Experience to Project Manage Large Scale IT Development and/or Infrastructure Deployments
  • Motivated and self-starter
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business users and IT professionals including globally distributed teams; the ability to adjust communications appropriately for the audience; work with all levels of management and diverse work groups
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes
  • Excellent technical knowledge of installed computers and peripheral equipment.
  • Operations-related knowledge of mainframe production features and communications networks.
  • Effective written, oral communication and interpersonal skills. Interface with various technical support staffs, vendors, users, and management to report and resolve operation-related problems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated record of self-motivation and dependability.
