In this position, engineer will be responsible for initial system design of automotive connected features and development of proof of concept for defining feature requirements and specifications, ensuring feasibility, functionality, and integration with existing systems/platforms.
Position Duties:
- Develop software modules and software engineering artifacts for inclusion into both proof of concept as well as production-level hardware modules in support of autonomous feature development.
- Work closely with Enterprise Connectivity SW Technical Expert & team to develop strategies related to autonomous features.
- Lead and Support Autonomous Connected Feature develop with Ford processes and tools.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- 2+ years of Software develop experience
- 6+ months Software development experience with C and C++ on QNX and Linux
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understand of existing Software Architecture and specifications
- Experience with QNX and Linux
- Embedded scripting language experience using Lua
- Good understanding of IP network Stack and Application layer protocols such as HTTP and MQTT
- Solid Understanding and experience in Automotive Ethernet, CAN, CAN FD and Automotive Diagnostics
- Experience with Navigation Database
- Ability to code and demonstrate PoC concepts
- Ability to derive functional requirements from PoC’s and write specifications
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Solid understanding and experience in software development including good software design practices
- Ability to resolve inconsistencies in case of unclear technical requirements
