John Michael Ferrer joined Ford Motor Company as an intern back in 2015, in the early days of the Palo Alto campus. After finishing his internship and completing his Mechanical Engineering degree at Stanford, Ferrer took on the Ford College Graduate rotational program and experienced over two years of exciting, diverse assignments throughout Ford. Ferrer now works as a Research Engineer with the Greenfield Labs Emerging Technology team.
Ferrer takes pride in leveraging a breadth of skills bridging creative and technical disciplines, as well as applying human-centered design to novel, exciting projects like UAV-to-vehicle integration, projection technologies, and the future of police vehicles.
Aside from his array of responsibilities, Ferrer co-leads Ford’s new office MakerSpace, and acts as a creative thought partner for the site to allow people to bring their ideas to reality and express themselves through hands-on building. A foodie at heart, you might catch John enjoying yet another bowl of ramen, heading to happy hour, or scoping out the next great dessert place around the Bay Area.
