Edward R. (Randy) Krieger is President and Chief Executive Officer, Ford Japan Limited, effective January 1, 2006. Prior to joining Ford Japan, Krieger served as vice president of Marketing, Sales and Service at Changan Ford, in Chongqing, China, a position he was named to in May 2003.
Krieger joined Ford Motor Credit Company in 1986 and, over a four-plus year period, was successful in a number of customer and dealer finance roles. In 1991, he moved to Ford Division Field Operations in North America and gained valuable experience working in a number of capacities in marketing, distribution and dealer operations. He also worked for Lincoln Mercury Field Operations and in Ford's brand strategy division.
Krieger has experience working in Europe, but the majority of his international experience has been in Asia. As vice president of Marketing, Sales & Service at Changan Ford, Krieger was a central part of the team responsible for the exponential growth of Changan Ford sales in China. In a 30 month period beginning in June 2003, Changan Ford sales in China grew six fold, while the number of Changan Ford dealers increased from 26 to 150. In this same period, unaided awareness of the Ford brand more than doubled.
Krieger is a graduate of the University of Mississippi, Mississippi and has a MBA in finance from the University of Memphis, Tennessee. Krieger was born on March 12, 1964 in Battle Creek, Michigan.
