SHANGHAI, China, 4 Mar., 2011 – Ford Motor China sold 31,934 vehicles in February, an 11 percent increase from February 2010. Ford's sales in China are up 16 percent so far this year, compared to January – February last year, with 85,274 vehicles sold
Led by continued strong sales of the Ford Focus mid-size sedan, the Company and its partners sold 22,758 Ford brand vehicles in February. Sales of the Focus were up 22 percent compared to February 2010, with 12,627 units sold. This marks the 24th consecutive month of Focus sales topping 10,000 units.
Ford Fiesta, the first car in its segment to achieve top crash test ratings in China, U.S., and Europe, had sales of 4,570 units in February.
Ford Transit continues to lead the high-end light commercial vehicle segment with 3,409 units sold in February, up 21 percent from February 2010.
Changan Ford Mazda Automobile (CFMA), Ford Motor China's passenger vehicle joint-venture in China, sold 24,336 units in February.
Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC), Ford’s commercial vehicle partner in China, posted sales of 12,585 units, 33 percent higher compared to February 2010. So far this year, JMC has sold 33,551 units in China, an increase of 37 percent compared to last year.
