China: Changan Ford Sees Steady Sales

Growth 5th Consecutive Month of More Than 10,000 Ford Focus Sold in China

CHONGQING, August 3, 2010 –
Changan Ford Sales Company saw July sales of 18,255 vehicles sold, driving the total sales this year to 170,053 units, a record increase of 38 percent compared to January - July last year.

The newly launched 2011 Ford Focus achieved sales of 11,413 units, the 5th continuous month its sales topped 10,000 units, highlighting its strong position in the mid-size car segment. So far this year the Ford Focus has achieved 94,559 in sales, an increase of 30 percent from the same time last year.

The Ford Fiesta, which has strong appeal among young, urban Chinese consumers, had sales of 4,246 units in July, achieving total sales of 42,923 so far this year, an increase of 90%.

"Our 5th consecutive month selling more than 10,000 Ford Focus vehicles reinforces the fact that Chinese consumers increasingly understand that they don't have to sacrifice style and performance for fuel efficiency," said Nigel Harris, general manager of Changan Ford Sales Company.  "Given the fact that overall industry sales in China have slowed down in the past few months, we're pleased that sales are up almost 38% for the year."

The Ford Mondeo has achieved sales of 29,544 for the year, an increase of 16%; and the Ford S-MAX has achieved sales of 3,027 units for the year, an increase of 20%.
