Learning To Be Safe
Traffic fatalities are the main cause of death of teenagers between the ages of 15 and 20. These statistics are reflected in the fact that during the past five years, 458 Puerto Ricans, between the ages of 16 and 25, have died in car accidents.
For this reason, Ford Motor Company, together with the organization SafeSmartWomen created the safety initiative, “Ready, Safe, Drive!.” This training program teaches young women between the ages of 16 and 19 important safety measures. The workshop also focuses on preventative tips for staying safe on the road, information on local traffic laws, and basic car care and maintenance.
