BRENTWOOD, Essex, 17 December, 2009 – The Ford Focus has been voted "Used Car of the Decade" by CAP – the UK's independent used car pricing experts.
The CAP Used Car of the Decade award recognises a vehicle's contribution to personal transport in Britain. The award was open to any used car range available during the decade (2000 – 2009).
Mark Norman, chairman of the CAP judging panel, said: "As a used car the Ford Focus has satisfied every criteria for the demanding consumer requiring a true five-seat family car.
He continued: "The Focus has always been a well engineered and durable product that consistently offers a reliable sales opportunity to used car retailers."
Jon Wellsman, sales director, Ford of Britain said: "Ford is extremely proud of the Focus model range and delighted to receive such a prestigious award. The dynamic Focus continues to improve as a model and we hope this latest generation of vehicles will continue to be as successful in the used car market."
There are over 1,300,000 new and used Focus models on Britain's roads today.
