CONTEXT / BACKGROUND:
Creede Fitch, a nurse at Primary Children’s Medical Center, didn’t really see the value in social networking until he started his blog. What Creede discovered was that social networking has the ability to connect people and build relationships. Now Creede enjoys using these networks to share his life’s experiences - especially those he’s had recently as a Fiesta Movement agent. To be honest, Creede was never a big fan of Ford – he prefers foreign made cars – but by driving a European-spec Fiesta, he learned that Ford has more to offer than he ever imagined. As part of an innovative social media initiative, 100 young trendsetters will test drive and live with a European-spec Fiesta for six months, traveling as agents on special missions, who then will relate their experiences through a variety of social media sites.
AGENT STATISTICS:
Name: Creede Fitch
Age: 30
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Occupation: Nurse
Current Car Owned: Subaru WRX
Twitter Followers: 335
Facebook Friends: 305
YouTube Views: 658
DETAILS:
Creede always viewed Ford Motor Company as the automaker that builds noisy trucks. Since getting his driver’s license, he’s owned 17 vehicles – and not one was made by an American automaker. It seemed only European-made cars were sophisticated enough for Creede. That is, until he started driving his Ford Fiesta.
Creede wasn’t originally interested in becoming a Fiesta Movement agent. Only after the persistent encouragement of a friend did he become interested. He thought that the marketing approach was fresh and bold so he shot off an audition in 45 minutes and hasn’t looked back.
For his first Fiesta Movement mission, Creede was dispatched to a local farmer’s market. His task was to convince a farmer to take him home and let him milk a cow. However, Salt Lake City’s markets weren’t actually open at the time, so Creede used his ingenuity to locate a farm in northwestern Utah - where he learned to milk a cow from long-time dairy farmers.
Creede's second mission, called "Geocaching for you," calls on Creede to obtain a GPS device, log onto geocaching.com and locate any geocache around the world. Upon discovering the treasure box, Creede must leave an object of his choice – as well as the URL to his Fiesta Movement page. This initiative will allow Creede to share his story with people he doesn't even yet know.
In his spare time Creede explores his fascination with modern architecture and design. He has a passion for mid-1960s designs and enjoys attending forums that explore the complexity of this era of architecture. Creede loves photography, the outdoors and spending time with his family.
QUOTES:
“I appreciate that Ford doesn’t want a cheesy advertisement from me about the Fiesta; rather, they just want my raw experiences and impressions.”
“I’ve never owned an American-made car. The Fiesta has opened my eyes that Ford offers more vehicles than just the loud trucks that drive down the street.”
