CONTEXT / BACKGROUND:
Brad and Emma are two theater employees from Oregon who love both a good adventure and the area in which they live. The Fiesta Movement is the perfect way for them to combine the two and set out to show off the new Ford Fiesta along the way. As part of an innovative social media initiative, 100 young trendsetters will test drive and live with a European-spec Fiesta for six months, traveling as agents on special missions, who then will relate their experiences through a variety of social media sites.

DETAILS:
Brad and Emma are creative types – so it's no surprise they decided to make a video and apply for the Fiesta Movement. Both work at the Craterian Theater in Medford, Oregon and plan to put their theatrical experience to good use as Fiesta Movement agents. So far they've even had Ryan Stiles, a comedian from “Whose Live Anyway?” make a cameo in a video posted to YouTube.
The pair first became aware of the Fiesta Movement when a friend of Brads sent him his application video. Brad's competitive side came out, and he knew he could do better. He asked Emma if she wanted to join him (she jokes that it's just because she knew how to drive a stick shift). Social media is a strong part of their life – they have a Twitter account, a YouTube page, a Facebook fan page, a Flickr site and a blog dedicated to the Fiesta Movement.
They've only had their Fiesta for a few weeks, but they've already begun to experience the excitement that the Fiesta brings. A drive that usually lasts nine hours from Seattle took much longer because they were tempted to stop along the interstate at places they've always wanted to, but haven't made the time to.
Their first mission – Neither Rain Nor Snow – asked them to be a “mule” for a day and pick up a package and deliver it. Sounds simple enough, but they made their mission unique. They delivered packages from Harry & David to the National Guard Armory, and got a ‘taste’ of Harry & David along the way. At the company's headquarters in Medford, Oregon, Brad and Emma worked on the conveyor belt helping make the gourmet treats, than packaged them up and delivered the food.
One aspect of the adventure they specifically are excited about is showcasing the Pacific Northwest. Through blogs and videos they are planning to highlight what the area offers – camping, kayaking or skiing – or wherever the Fiesta takes them. Additionally, after completing a 3,000 mile road trip last year, they are looking forward to doing something similar this year, but in an exciting new car that's sure to draw attention along the way.
QUOTES:
“We work inside a dark theater all year long, so it’s nice to do an adventure that will get us out doing things and documenting those adventures. We get a new car that no one else has and we can go out, explore, and show off that car in all these different areas.”
– Brad,
Fiesta Movement agent
“Driving the Fiesta has been a lot of fun and cutting down in the size of vehicle has been interesting. It definitely hasn’t disappointed in terms of fitting people and luggage.”
– Emma,
Fiesta Movement agent
