DETAILS:
Alison Haislip was born and raised in New Jersey and comes from a Ford family. She learned how to drive on a Ford Explorer and her first car was a 1995 Ford Escort station wagon, which had originally been her grandmother’s car. That Escort got her through the end of high school, all the way through her four years at Boston College, and to the beginning of her life in Los Angeles where she now resides.
The idea of doing monthly missions is what hooked Alison for the Fiesta Movement, and winning a car that no one else in the country had didn’t sound bad either. And believe it or not, this is the second time Alison has won a car. The first time was on “Price is Right.”
Alison became involved with social media after getting her job at G4 television station, mainly by blogging about her adventures on her Web site. One of the unique aspects of social media that intrigues her is that even the mundane things in her life are interesting to the people following her. For example, washing her Fiesta for the first time – she posted a video to YouTube and has 5,355 views.
For her first Fiesta Movement mission, “Road Trip!” Alison grabbed three friends and headed to the Salton Sea in California. They stopped at various points along the way, including Salvation Mountain and seeing mud volcanoes. For her, the best part was being with friends and traveling to places they would have never thought to check out.
For Alison, the Fiesta Movement is a great excuse to travel more, and a nice reason to get out and try new things. She also made fast friends with other agents at the agent immersion events when receiving their cars. Given their use of social media, it’s a lot easier for them to keep in touch other and update each other on their missions.
QUOTES:
“I’ve always been into video games and I’m tech-savvy. I’m the girl that friends call to set up cable boxes for them.”
“My friends made fun of me for getting such a crazy design on the car, but if you’re going to have a car for six months, you might as well go all out. It’s fun to drive a flashy car, except when you stall out in the middle of an intersection.”
