CHONGQING, December 2nd, 2009 – Changan Ford Sales Company today reported sales of 22,738 Ford brand vehicles in November, an increase of 152 percent from the same month a year ago, extending its year-over-year monthly sales growth to ten consecutive months.
Through the first eleven months of 2009, Changan Ford has achieved total sales for Ford brand vehicles of 210,982 units, up 47 percent from the same period last year.
Continued strong sales from the all-new Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus helped drive the impressive November sales performance. Ford Fiesta delivered its best-ever China monthly sales in November with 5,440 units, bringing total sales of the popular nameplate to 42,260 units since its March launch.
Ford Focus achieved sales of 12,797 units, underscoring its position as one of the top sellers in China’s mid-size car market. The vehicle’s popularity as a sporty brand will receive another boost from the launch of the Focus Sport Limited Edition at the recent Guangzhou Auto Show.
The Ford Mondeo and Ford S-MAX nameplates also continued strong sales performances, increasing sales in November by 55 and 181 percent, respectively, compared to the same month a year ago. Changan Ford expects Mondeo sales to strengthen further with the recent launch of the 2010 Mondeo.
"Mondeo with its great looks and outstanding driving dynamics now has even more safety features and comfort, making it fully competitive in the large car segment," said Nigel Harris, general manager of Changan Ford Sales Company. "The continuing sales success of Changan Ford can be credited to the great Ford products that Chinese customers want and value.”
The consistent growth of sales nationwide has also been supported by Changan Ford's growing dealer network. With three new dealerships established in November, Changan Ford now has a total of 230 authorized, Ford full-service dealerships across the country, providing class-leading sales and service to Chinese customers.
