NOVEMBER 23, 2009 GUANGZHOU – Along with staging a spectacular product line-up at the 2009 Guangzhou Auto Show, Changan Ford today announced the launch of the upgraded 2010 Ford Mondeo and the Sport limited edition of its popular Ford Focus. Ford’s EcoBoost engine cutaway is also being showcased for the first time to demonstrate Ford’s green technology, which will be introduced in China next year.

“We are confident that our class-leading products and new green technologies will continue to win the hearts of Chinese consumers,” said Nigel Harris, general manager of Changan Ford Sales Company.

Exciting Product Developments
As the flagship model of Changan Ford, the Ford Mondeo has been leading the trend in China’s premium mid-to-large auto market. Its classy appearance and spacious interior combines with leading safety, excellent driving dynamics and on-board comfort to meet the needs of both successful career and family-minded customers.

The upgraded 2010 Ford Mondeo has a number of enhanced design features to appeal to its discerning customers, including improved exterior and interior design, craftsmanship, as well as curtain airbags and a power adjustable front passenger seat installed on a higher-end version.

In addition, Ford Mondeo now has two additional body colors: Plum Blush and Ocean Blue. Piano black is replaced by walnut trim on the Ghia High model to cater to the tastes of Chinese customers. There are also noticeable improvements in interior design, paintwork and other detail specifications.

The Ford Focus Sport, which is a limited edition of 1,300 cars, is currently on sale. The vehicle, based on the Ford Focus MT, adopts new color designs and a new dynamic appearance. The interior design matches the Focus Sport’s dramatic new dynamic external appearance – a passionate mix of red and black that captures Ford’s sporty spirit.

Recommended retail prices of both the upgraded Ford Mondeo and Ford Focus Sport limited edition will remain unchanged, offering consumers an excellent value-for-money package.

Green Technologies for Consumers
The company is also previewing its highly-awarded EcoBoost engine technology at the Auto Show. An EcoBoost engine cutaway display, which makes its China debut, simulates core EcoBoost technologies. Powered by gasoline direction injection and a turbocharger, EcoBoost increases fuel efficiency by 20% and reduces CO2 emissions by 15% with a smaller engine supporting a stronger power system.

EcoBoost technology, which has obtained 125 patents and applications in the US, is the cornerstone of Ford’s near-term sustainability strategy. Compared to hybrids and electric engines, EcoBoost technology builds upon today's affordable option to benefit more customers. In 2010, Ford will introduce the EcoBoost technology to the Chinese market.
