In line with our desire to move forward with the design and prototyping of new mobility experiences, we are looking for an Interaction Design Intern to push our efforts forward. This Interaction Designer will guide project teams through research, analysis, ideation and prototyping to design.
Position Responsibilities Interaction Design within Greenfield Labs includes planning and execution of human-centered design activities to facilitate the progression of Ford GFL’s project portfolio. The Intern will provide support for existing work streams, and provide leadership in research, framing insights, conceptualizing/prototyping, and product realization. Specific deliverables and any estimated milestones will be listed in the Work Requirements sections of this SOW.
Support the team in research planning and execution, including asset development, study prepping, and annotation
Support Palo Alto teams with user experience vision development, guiding tech development with human-centered design
Provide support in digital asset development, including mobile, desktop, and HMI mock-up content
Support development of physical prototypes (from low-fidelity to production-facing) for research purposes
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or related
Preferred Qualifications
Core interaction design principles and skills including concept sketching, interaction models, wireframing, information architecture, and flow mapping
Passion for human-centered design particularly as applied to web-based applications, services, and experiences
Interested in mobility and transport; the art and science of moving people and goods seamlessly, safely, and sustainably
Comfortable with design software for wireframing and prototyping (Sketch, Illustrator, InVision, Axure, etc), with an ability to come up to speed with new emerging technologies quickly
Experience with design research, coding, and video production a plus
Knowledge of capabilities and limitations of Web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
Passionate, detail oriented, hard working, self motivated, and proactive
Strong communication and time management skills
Ability to work both on a team and independently
A passion for creating products that resonate with people and create value
At least three work samples will be requested - online portfolio preferred.
