Position Overview/Description:
As part of Ford Smart Mobility, the City Solutions team works with political leaders, business stakeholders, and community members in targeted cities to identify, build, launch, and operationalize sustainable business models that best position Ford and strategic partners to solve city mobility challenges and improve the quality of urban life.

This position will play a key role in synthesizing insights across our Digital Services, Engagement, City of Tomorrow Challenge, and Policy teams. You will have the opportunity to assist in framing the strategy and creating tactical communications tools to highlight our approach to human-centered mobility and infrastructure options.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with our North America Senior City Manager team to capture and communicate insights from mobility services pilots.
  • Assist in crafting white papers and other thought leadership pieces to communicate Ford’s mobility strategy to key stakeholders.
  • Assist in brainstorm and creation of human-centered design tools that build authentic interaction with community members in focus cities.
  • Provide guidance and insight to project leads on public policy issues, including helping to shape solutions with a blend of policy knowledge and design principles.
  • Capture internal learnings and industry research to present thoughtful frameworks that portray potential transportation futures and human-centered street and mobility design.
  • Work across Ford Mobility teams through contribution of mobility insights.
  • Support effective interface with Ford Mobility experts and stakeholders (i.e., Government Relations, strategy, Greenfield Labs, et al)


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working on projects that seek to solve city mobility challenges and improve the quality of urban life
  • Knowledge of public policy issues impacting cities, mobility companies, the technology sector, and economic development
  • Enthusiasm for brainstorming, creative thinking, and participatory design
  • Experience creating policy papers
  • Experience building relationships with public officials and the non-profit sector
  • Comfort with ambiguity and working in “white space”
  • Skilled communicator across multiple stakeholders with experience delivering material in a way that engages the audience
