Job Description
• Identify and develop novel engineering and technical solutions in automotive seats and interiors in response to customer feedback, corporate TGW criteria, benchmarking and regulations as stated by FMVSS requirements.
• Prepare conceptual sketches and diagrams to aid in Design Initiation, Verification and Analysis.
• Prepare and develop Intellectual Property, and author US Patent Applications to be filed on behalf of FoMoCo.
• Use CATIA v5 as a design tool to create virtual mock-ups in preparation of building full-scale mock-ups.
• Fabricate and building prototype parts and assemblies to ensure fit and function for concept-readiness stage, while presenting fully developed and engineered upgrades for design intent.
• Prepare Bills of Materials, Purchase requisitions and Work orders to complete builds in a timely and efficient manner.
• Utilize FoMoCo’s resources such as TeamCenter, GTDS and Innovation spaces to work with cross-functional engineering teams to brainstorm and develop collective ideas for problem statements and innovative products.
• Lead projects and apply project management guidelines and PLM tools and techniques to update and complete projects related to seats, vehicle interiors and vehicle architecture
• Good overall knowledge of seat manufacturing techniques including stamping, injection molding, and foam molding to match Ford seat DNA, comfort, mechanical and safety properties of seat components.
• Research and study academic and engineering literature pertaining to seats, interiors, interior trim and vehicle architecture to improve system performance, including active and passive occupant safety features.
• Actively involved in cross-functional research experiments and innovation sessions to inspire new technologies and manufacturing techniques to improve the product line, UI/UX and create new opportunities for FoMoCo.

Required Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent
2+ years Automotive seating experience
