Job Description
Electrical & Electronic Systems / Feature Design Engineer (a.k.a. Feature Owner) position offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, MI).
Electronic features in the automotive industry have grown from simple single-function components to complex, software rich, networked and connected vehicle systems. This results in a challenging development process.
The distribution of features into functional groups is a necessary step to facilitate the complexity of these systems. Proper definition and distribution of these functional groups is a critical step in the development process to ensure that customer expectations are met, as well as engineer objectives, such as shared usage of ECUs or modular design to make the systems scalable and re-usable. Nonetheless, the distribution of Features requires more effort to ensure a robust system behavior: the focus lies on the customer’s experience.

As an Electrical & Electronic Systems / Feature Engineer, you will lead the Agile development and modeling of new features using the latest technology to deliver an enhanced, seamless and connected experience for our customers.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelors in Engineering or related field
  • 2+ years of related experience in Automotive Engineering role
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or higher in Electrical Engineering
  • Strong understanding of automotive vehicle electrical systems (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years of related experience in Automotive Engineering role
  • Electrical Systems Engineering experience including understanding of systems engineering V model
  • SysML, MagicDraw, Simulink
