Job Description Position Overview/Description: We are looking for a product development engineer to improve the quality of our vehicle electrical systems by working on systemic issues affecting power generation and energy storage. You will work in a dynamic team environment, interfacing with product development engineers across the organization. Additionally, you will interface with quality team leaders and engineers from our central software organization. This position is a mixture of hands-on problem solving and analytical work.
Responsibilities:
Lead resolution of system based quality issues affecting power generation and energy storage
Develop robust corrective actions and prevent reoccurrence actions together with component engineers and feature owners
Provide recommended updates to requirements, test methods, dFMEAs, and design review processes
Lead cross-functional meetings with quality and central software to develop/update best practices
Work with electrical architecture and connected vehicle teams to leverage connected vehicle capability
Work with Research and Advanced engineering teams to develop new approaches to eliminate common failure modes
Work with on-vehicle networking teams to develop improved network management strategies
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
1+ years of experience using quality methods/tools, including: dFMEA, DVP, Six Sigma, DMAIC
1+ years of experience with systems engineering fundamentals
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred 2+ years experience using systems engineering approach to solve problems and create solutions
Demonstrated strong problem solving skills
Strong teamwork mindset
Strong written and oral communication skills
Familiarity with connected vehicle technology
Familiarity with in-vehicle network communication protocols (e.g. CAN, LIN)
