Job Description Innovate and develop new strategies and designs for electrical architecture at the vehicle and system level.
Determine the functional allocations for advanced features and develop the high level network and physical interfaces needed to implement them.
Explore alternative architecture concepts including new networking technologies, new and redundant power generation / storage methods and functional control methods.
This work is cross domain including areas such as electrical distribution, networking, functional decomposition, power generation, connectivity and software. The work will be part of a large team with diverse technical skills.
Current areas of interest include Battery Electric Vehicles and rethinking the electrical system to better align with persistent data connectivity and services made available through the cloud.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop functional allocations and high level network, wiring and power distribution topologies to address upcoming feature needs and to ensure future growth potential.
Create subsystem level architectures to support advanced EE feature development. Examples include areas as diverse as next gen powertrains, advanced vehicle security and lighting, and active driving assistance.
Explore and develop long term alternative architecture concepts including new networking technologies, power generation methods and functional control concepts.
Minimum Requirements
BS - Electrical Engineering, Computer or Controls Engineering
3+ years Electrical Experience in Automotive industry in an Engineering role. (coursework allowed)
Preferred Requirements
Master’s degree– Electrical Engineering, Computer or Controls Engineering
3+ years experience with one or more automotive electrical systems areas such as Networking (CAN / LIN), Electrical distribution systems, Electrical power generation / storage, or Electrical feature design / allocation.
Experience with one or more automotive electrical systems areas such as Networking (CAN / LIN), Electrical distribution systems, Electrical power generation / storage, or Electrical feature design / allocation.
Potential candidates should have a good capability for systems level thinking / systems engineering.
Successful architecture development requires extensive cross functional communications so potential candidates should have solid communications skills
