Business Training for Latino Youth

We understand that both business and business knowledge contribute to the future of the Latino community. As such, we support young Latino entrepreneurs to help them nurture their business ideas and gain knowledge that will help them throughout their lives.

A Program Promoting Interest in Business and Personal Development

To promote business learning and interest, we contribute to the BizFest program of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation (USHCCF). The national BizFest events that we support consist of a series of youth entrepreneurship training camps focused on the automotive industry. In total, more than 400 Latino youth have participated in the Ford- sponsored BizFest events in the last four years, including 130 participants this year.

The first part of the BizFest workshops is "Foundation for Success." High school students learn to think about business strategically and they develop their personal skills, such as discipline and a commitment to education.

In the second part of the workshops, "Entrepreneurship Training," students develop business concepts and compete in a business plan competition. The winners and finalists of the competition receive monetary awards and can also work with local business people to develop their ideas and learn about business. Each BizFest training camp takes place over the course of four days.

Awards

Through our support, young Latinos compete and earn financial prizes for their business ideas. We are proud of how our contributions to this program are providing students with a valuable education and helping them in business and throughout life.
