Greener Miles

While we're investing billions to develop technologies to enable new cars and trucks to emit less carbon dioxide (CO2), vehicle owners can help reduce CO2 emissions as well.

Drive Greener Miles

To help you help the planet, we've launched the Greener Miles program. Greener Miles has two components:

TerraPass Program — Through our association with TerraPass, you can calculate the amount of CO2 your vehicle emits when you drive. Then, if you choose, you can purchase a TerraPass (about $30—$80 a year) that funds projects like wind energy to reduce CO2 emissions elsewhere by the same amount your vehicle emits

To learn about carbon offsets or to purchase a TerraPass, visit the Greener Miles website.

Eco-Driving — Did you know that your driving style has a lot to do with the greenhouse gas emissions generated when you drive? Learn maintenance and driving habits that conserve fuel, save money and reduce CO2 emissions with our interactive Eco-Driving learning module

About Climate Change

The growing weight of evidence holds that man-made greenhouse gas emissions are starting to significantly influence the world's climate in ways that affect all parts of the globe. At Ford, this issue is one of our highest priorities. Concerns about climate change affect our factories, our customers, our investors and our communities. We're determined to do our part to help stabilize the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere.

About Carbon Offsets

Carbon offsets enable individuals and companies to fund projects that reduce the CO2 in the atmosphere by the same amount their activities generate. These projects include development of cleaner renewable energy sources such as wind energy or power from dairy farm manure. Carbon offsets are growing in popularity and have been used to offset emissions from sources as diverse as sporting events, concert tours, home heating and electricity use and airline travel.

Through our Greener Miles program, offered in association with TerraPass, you can offset the emissions from your driving.
