Our Commitment to Quality Resulted in 102 Accolades in 2007

Some of the highlights of the quality achievement accolades we received in 2007 include the following:

  • Ford Motor Company earned five initial quality model segment awards – more than any other automaker – from J.D. Power and Associates’ Initial Quality Study*.
  • Ford quality leapt 11 percent, soaring above the industry’s 2 percent improvement according to a U.S. Global Quality Research System (GQRS) study by RDA Group released in October 2007**.
  • Ford received quality accolades from 13 important customer surveys in 2007, including 2 from J.D. Power and Associates (Initial Quality Study, the Automotive Performance and Execution and Layout Study), 2 from GQRS (TGW performance and Durability Study), 2 from Strategic Vision (Total Value Index and Customer Delight Award), 2 from AutoPacific (Vehicle Satisfaction Awards, Ideal Vehicle Awards), and 2 from Edmunds.com (Consumers’ Most Wanted Vehicles, Editors¹ Most Wanted Vehicles). We also received accolades from Consumers Digest Automotive Best Buy, U.S. News & World Reports’ Best Car and Trucks, and IntelliChoice.com and AutoPacific Motorist Choice Awards.
  • Ford has quality winners in virtually every major vehicle segment including the following:
    • Mid-size sporty car - Ford Mustang was named “Highest Ranked Midsize Sporty Car in Initial Quality” in 2007 by J.D. Power and Associates***.
    • Mid-size car - Ford Fusion was named “A 2008 Consumers Digest Best.”
    • Large car - Ford Taurus was named “A 2008 Consumers Digest Best Buy.”
    • Van - Ford Econoline was named a GQRS segment winner for customer satisfaction in Q2 and Q3 of 2007.
    • Large pickup - Ford F-150 LD was named “2008 Consumers Digest Best Buy” and received “Winning Strategic Vision’s 2007 Total Quality Award, For Best Full-size Pickup Ownership Experience"*****.
  • Ford Edge, and Lincoln MKX and Lincoln Navigator were named in AutoPacific’s Vehicle Satisfaction Award as Best in Class, an industry benchmark for objectively measuring new-car or light-truck owner satisfaction****.
