Irvine, Calif, October 19, 2007 - PRIMEDIA's Intellichoice.com, the online source for automotive ownership cost and value analysis, and AutoPacific, the industry source for owner satisfaction rankings, recently announced the results of their annual Motorist Choice Awards. The 2007 Land Rover Range Rover Sport received the highest honors in the Luxury Sport Utility category.
“We are delighted to be recognized not only by such highly respected industry analysts, but also by automotive consumers as a whole,” said Chris Marchand, executive vice president, marketing and sales, Land Rover North America. “The luxury SUV segment is very competitive and it's great to know that people have taken notice of the Range Rover Sport's on- and off-road attributes.”
The Motorist Choice Awards were designed to recognize the vehicles that deliver the highest customer satisfaction as well as the lowest cost of ownership. The awards take AutoPacific's owner satisfaction data from new vehicle buyers and combine it with Intellichoice.com's cost of ownership data to create an award that “speaks to the hearts and wallets” of vehicle buyers.
“This year's roster of winners earned their place by challenging vehicles often recognized for their quality and value,” said James Bell, publisher of IntelliChoice.com.
AutoPacific surveys 45 different vehicle ownership attributes, 38 are product-focused while the remaining seven focus on cost attributes including depreciation, financing, fuel, insurance, maintenance, repairs and state fees. Intellichoice.com rates vehicles based on total ownership cost relative to the vehicles total expected cost.
