University of Wisconsin Engineering EXPO

Engineering EXPO is a three day event held every two years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s College of Engineering. EXPO is run entirely by students and brings more than 10,000 visitors to campus biennially. During the first two days of EXPO, elementary schools, middle schools and high schools are invited to explore what engineering involves. Each day the event is open to the public.

Ford is an EXPO Platinum Sponsor.  Ford will sponsor the event’s professional competition, Ford's Solar Car Drag Race for grades 6-12. Students construct a solar powered vehicle prior to the competition that can traverse a given distance in the fastest time. Ford also is the keynote speaker for a seminar about Ford STEAM Lab, an educational program from the Ford Motor Company Fund, dedicated to promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics to our youth. The Ford STEAM Lab will be presenting why the promotion of STEAM is so important at a young age and what they are doing to promote STEAM within the community.  Finally five Ford engineers will staff two indoor displays and three vehicles on the engineering campus.
